Class Description

** OM-ICON **Beginner Yoga

For students new to yoga and those that wish to continue at the beginner level. This class introduces students to breath awareness, asanas (postures), relaxation and meditation. The importance of correct alignment in the postures is taught and reinforced.

** OM-ICON **Intermediate Yoga

This class offers students the opportunity to move more deeply into asanas (postures), as well as practicing the more advanced postures. Pranayama (breathing techniques) continues to be explored, along with mantra and meditation.

** OM-ICON **All Levels

Students are encouraged to practice at their own level in this class. Modifications are given as needed. Some yoga experience is recommended.

** OM-ICON **Gentle Yoga

A class designed for those students wanting a slower paced practice, for those with physical issues, or for the mature person starting out in yoga. There is an emphasis on breath awareness and increasing flexibility, though asanas to increase overall strength are also practiced.

** OM-ICON **Yoga & Meditation

This all-levels class encourages students to practice at their own level. Modifications are given as needed. Various meditation techniques will be explored throughout the session. The meditation portion of the class will gradually increase over the weeks.

** OM-ICON **Gentle Yoga & Meditation

This energizing class, as taught by Yogi Vishvketu, combines postures, oscillating movements, pranayama techniques and mantra to clear the nadis (subtle energy paths) and their junction points (chakras) encouraging equanimity, clarity and a deep sense of peacefulness.

** OM-ICON **Chakra Yoga

This class is a journey through each of the seven major energy centers - from the Muladhara (Root) Chakra to the Sahasrara (Crown) Chakra.  Each class includes an asana and meditation practice.

** OM-ICON **Hatha-Raja Yoga

The Hatha-Raja class is a sequence of moderate postures practiced in a slow and mindful way in conjunction with the sonorous Brahmaree Pranayama (honey bee breath). The intention in this class is to lengthen the breath in the postures with sound. It emphasizes postures that influence the pineal and pituitary glands of the brain helping to bring the mind to a calm and uplifted state. The class concludes with 15 minutes of meditation. It is excellent for anyone wishing to release stress and increase pranic awareness through sound, movement and meditation.

** OM-ICON **Restorative Yoga Retreat

Restorative Yoga invites the practitioner into a deeply relaxed state. Luxuriate in the important task of doing nothing but being in each pose. Be nourished from within as the body releases and opens into the more subtle layers of the body. Excellent for stress reduction, self-nurturing and profound relaxation.

** OM-ICON **Yoga Retreat

This retreat invites you to explore your yoga practice more deeply. Immerse yourself in the practice of pranayama (breathing techniques), yoga asanas, the stillness of seated meditation, and yoga nidra (deep relaxation).

** OM-ICON **Hatha-Raja Retreat
